Santa’s Grotto is set to make a return to Redditch for magical family fun this Christmas.

The Kingfisher Centre will be hosting the popular community event on Park Walk, between Coffee #1 and Waterstones, from Friday, November 24 with guests being invited to take a festive journey through the ‘Christmas Tree Farm’.

Shoppers will head to Santa’s ‘potting station’ to plant a magic bean before watching it grow into a miniature Christmas tree in the ‘magical growing chamber’.

As the tree grows, children will be able to meet Father Christmas before heading into the ‘decoration station’ with their miniature tree to make them sparkle and shine.

The launch of Santa’s Grotto marks the start of the town’s festivities which also includes the Redditch BID Christmas light switch-on being hosted by Peter Andre on Saturday, October 25.

General manager at the Kingfisher Shopping Centre said: “We’re thrilled to bring back Santa’s Grotto this year.

“The experience is very popular with local families in the community and the launch is the perfect build-up to our Christmas light switch-on event.”

Tickets for the event, which runs until Christmas Eve, can be booked online with a limited number of walk-ins available. They cost £7 per child which includes a mini Christmas tree to take home.

The Kingfisher Centre will also be offering dedicated quiet hours for SEN children from 10.30am to 11am on December 3, 10 and 17 as well as from 4pm to 5pm on December 5, 12 and 19.

Any school bookings will receive a 10% discount to the event whilst bookings from SEN schools will receive a 50% discount.
