Step into the festive spirit as the annual Christmas fun run returns to Redditch this December.

On Sunday, December 3, residents are being invited to put on their best Santa suits for the morning and raise much-needed funds for Primrose Hospice- in the Santa Fun Run 2023.

Last year Wendy Walton set herself the challenge of walking the route in memory of her husband, Ron, with her family helping to raise £1,121.25.

Ms Walton, aged 60, said: “It was such a lovely atmosphere, and everyone was shouting for us. I got quite emotional at the end when I got my medal.

“I was just grateful to be able to raise some money to give something back for the counselling that I received after Ron died and for the care that my friends and neighbours have received as well.”

The money raised could help pay for two weeks of Primrose Hospice at Home support meaning family and carers of patients can access vital respite care.

Ms Walton will also be volunteering and cheering on the participants this year as runners and walkers follow in her footsteps at Arrow Valley Park.

She added: “I’ve recently lost another friend who’s received care from Primrose Hospice so I know how important fundraising is for the hospice. I would like to say thank you to all the people who sponsored me last year.”

Early bird tickets are available until Monday, November 6.
