THOUSANDS of people partied in Redditch on Saturday (September 16) as the town’s carnival returned.

The popular town centre event featured a parade, live music, stalls and a fancy dress fun run.

This year's event was hailed as a huge success from visitors, with people praising the event on social media.

Richard Ellis said: "A great day at the Redditch Carnival, what a wonderful example of good community spirit.

"Well done to all the runners in the family fancy dress fun run, you all did fantastic".

Redditch Borough councillor Sid Khan, who represents the Abbey ward, said: "It was wonderful to see the crowds come out on their thousands and the weather holding up.

"Great to see groups perform and the comeback of floats. It's slowly but surely building back up.

"Thank you to the organisers and everyone who participated. It couldn't be done without you.

"I hope to see more floats and more participation next year. Bigger and better in 2024".
