NEARLY 50 people turned out for Redditch’s first Armed Forces and Veteran’s Breakfast Club.

James Shotbolt and Nick Walker, two ex Armed Forces members, have launched the Armed Forces and Veteran’s Breakfast Club which will meet at Redditch Cricket, Hockey, and Rugby Club on the first Saturday of every month at 10am.

The first club, which was held on Saturday, July 1, has been hailed a success by James and Nick. They said: “Well what a fantastic first breakfast that was, we had a total of 49 which was brilliant for the first one.

“The banter was bang on and everyone who left, left buzzing.”

They also thanked the staff at Redditch Cricket, Hockey, and Rugby Club and the chef.

Redditch mayor, Cllr Salman Akbar along with other councillors joined in for the ‘first of many’ breakfast clubs.

A raffle along with a presentation for the Falkland Island veterans was also held.

Peter Martin, CEO of Redditch Self Defence is the club’s sponsor and has helped purchase advertisement banners and signs.
