NEW food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Redditch’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them both.
Lakeside Kitchen And Catering, at Lakeside Trading Centre, Beoley Road East, Redditch was handed a five-out-of-five rating after an assessment on May 24.
The cafe serves a variety of takeaway food items including hot sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs and cold sandwiches.
And national coffee shop chain, Caffe Nero, at 15-17 Evesham Street in Redditch town centre was also given a score of five on May 22.
It means that of Redditch's 79 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 53 have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
The Food Hygiene Rating Scheme gives businesses a rating from five to zero so the public can make more informed choices about where to buy and eat food.
