The 2023 Worcestershire Health & Social Care Awards have been launched and are now open to nominations.
The awards seek to reward those that work in the health and care sectors - from care home workers to nurses, doctors to dentists and mental health workers to domiciliary care workers.
Now in their third year, the awards are organised by Newsquest - publishers of the Worcester News, Malvern Gazette, Evesham Journal, Bromsgrove & Droitwich Advertiser, Kidderminster Shuttle and Redditch Advertiser - in association with the University of Worcester.
Regional editor Stephanie Preece said: "As these awards have grown over the past few years, we have been humbled by the stories we have been told.
"Each nomination represents a special person or team whose work truly makes a difference to those that they care for.
"We are truly blessed to have such hard-working, dedicated and talented professionals in our communities and these awards seek to shine a light on the health and social care workers in Worcestershire who go the extra mile. We hope they will show our great appreciation for the work that they do.
"As the nominations come in, we look forward to sharing their stories and creating a permanent record of all those incredible achievements."
This year there are 12 categories: The Health Care Team Award, The Palliative Care / End of Life Award, The Care Hero Award, The Care Home Worker Award, The Health Care Employer Award, The Good Nurse Award, The Child & Adolescent Health Care Award, The Dementia Carer Award, The Mental Health Award, GP Practice of the Year, Domiciliary Care Worker Award and Oral Health Care Professional of the Year.
An award will also be given for Outstanding Contribution to Health & Social Care in Worcestershire - won last year by Megan Salter, from Handle with Care.
This year's awards will culminate in a black tie dinner for all the finalists at the Abbey Hotel in Malvern on Thursday, September 14, where the winners will be announced.
