There has been a major change to how elections will work this May – voters will have to bring photo ID for the first time.

The government have published a list of all the types of ID that will be accepted.

The Electoral Reform Society have warned that while there are plenty of options for older voters, the list of ID is worryingly restrictive and discriminates against young people.

Old people’s railcards are allowed, but young people’s railcards are excluded! Make sure you check the list and find out if the government are going to make it harder for you to vote.

New polling shows that young people are still the least aware of these changes and therefore most likely to be turned away (https:// voter-id-millions-of-youngpeople).

It shouldn’t be harder for some people to vote than others. This whole scheme should be cancelled.
