IT’S the final week that residents can have their say on the consultation for the Redditch Library relocation.

Two well-attended face to face sessions took place at Redditch Library, where residents provided feedback and asked questions about the library relocation proposals.

The county council says the feedback from these public meetings will be included in the consultation report findings, alongside the online and paper surveys received.

The report will then go to cabinet in late spring, where a decision will be made on whether the relocation of the library will go ahead.

Councillor Marcus Hart, cabinet member with responsibility for communities at Worcestershire County Council said: “We have heard from many local residents over the last few weeks, and it is evident from the feedback we’ve received so far that Redditch Library is seen as a hugely valuable service for the community.

"It’s important to reiterate at this point in the consultation, that Worcestershire County Council has been clear that if the library was to be relocated, there would be no reduction in library services and the library service would remain accessible to all."

The consultation for the relocation proposals in support of the Town Plan Deal led by Redditch Borough Council will close on Friday, February 24.

The consultation survey is available online at: www.worcestershire.gov.uk/redditchlibraryconsultation.
