NORTH Worcestershire Police cadets have supported three charities in the area – donating vital items such as food, nappies and cleaning products.

Each year, cadet cohorts in West Mercia are allocated money from the West Mercia Police Community Fund for which they bid to donate to good causes.

This year, the cadets chose to supply food, cleaning products, nappies and wipes to Basement Project in Bromsgrove.

As well as, donating food parcels to Brookside Family Centre in Wyre Forest and food items to Batchley Support Group in Redditch.

PC Neil Sharpe from the North Worcestershire Youth Engagement and Cadet Team said: “Each cadet had a chance to suggest where we should direct our bids and each cadet wanted to really help their community.

"These are young people volunteering their free time and who, like police officers and police staff, have a passionate sense of community and public service.”
