A STUDLEY care home has recently celebrated one year since it first opened its doors to residents.

Studley Rose, a residential care home on Pool Road marked its first anniversary by hosting a summer fete which brought residents, their families, and staff together for an afternoon of activities.

Guests had the opportunity for face painting, a tombola, as well as a performance by the Primrose Hospice choir.

The home also raised more than £200 on the day, which will be donated in part to the hospice, as well as an activity of the residents’ choice.

Betty Round, the home’s very first resident, said: “I've found it quite exhilarating, living at Studley Rose.

“The care team are so supportive and always provides lots of exciting activities for us.

“It was great to bring everyone together to celebrate the home's one-year anniversary and given that I’ve been here right from the start.”

Donna Lee, Home Manager at Studley Rose, said: “It was a real delight to bring the entire Studley Rose family together to celebrate this milestone.

“The past year has been a real journey for all of us and I truly believe we have established a great community, where each resident is treated as an individual.

“The summer fete was a fantastic opportunity for our residents’ families to come together and experience the inclusive culture we have here, and we were so blessed with the weather!

"We received some lovely feedback on the day and it really drives us on knowing that residents and their families are happy with the service we provide.

"We are all very optimistic for the year ahead and are already looking forward to celebrating our second year.”

Studley Rose is a 65-bed care home with communal space and shared facilities, such as a modern wellness suite, well-equipped gym and communal cinema.
