GENEROUS golfers were well to the fore in Redditch when helping to raise funds for injured military personnel.
Everyone chipped in to raise a spectacular £6,500 at the BOBST event staged at Redditch Golf Club.
A total of 17 teams took part in the event which comprised of suppliers, partners, customers and BOBST employees who followed up their exploits on the course with a two course dinner, raffle and auction to help swell the funds still further.
It takes the overall total raised for the charity to over £70,000 which will help support the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre’s benevolent fund.
The volunteer run charity provides holistic, occupational and social integration opportunities for serving military patients at the Ministry of Defence facility which is based in the Midland at Stanford Hall.
BOBST supply equipment and services to packaging and label manufacturers in the folding carton, corrugated board and flexible material industries.
Their HR manager Doris Morrison said: “The golf day has become the highlight of our social calendar and it’s great to be able to raise funds for this charity which does sterling work in assisting serving armed forces personnel."
Next year’s event has already been arranged for June 29 and anyone interested in taking part can book their place by emailing doris.morrison@bobst.com
