POLICE have launched an appeal following a report of assault and rape in Redditch.

The incident happened at around 8.30pm on Friday, July 15 in Hemmings Entry near to Church Road in the town centre

Officers have released an image of a man they would like to speak with as it’s believed he was in the area at the time and may be able to help with enquiries.

Officers would also like to speak to a second man believed to have been in the area at the time who may have witnessed the incident and have information that can assist. 

He is described as having short, dark hair, a moustache and dark stubble or beard. He was wearing denim jeans, white trainers, a blue gilet or blue jacket with grey sleeves. He is thought to be aged in his 30s. Police would also like this man to get in contact.

Temporary Detective Constable Matthew Robinson said: “We understand that incidents of this nature cause concern in the local community and would like to reassure people that while concerning when they do happen, they do not happen often. Our local policing teams have been conducting additional patrols in the area whilst investigations continue.”
