AS a record-breaking heatwave continues to grip the UK, several schools in Redditch have confirmed they will be closed tomorrow (July 19).
The following schools have confirmed to Worcestershire County Council that they will be shut tomorrow due to heath and safety of children and staff.
Astwood Bank Primary School said they will be fully closed due to the extreme weather conditions.
Tenacres First School has also decided to close and has rescheduled a Year 3 trip and Reception graduation ceremony.
Meadow Green Primary School in Wythall will be closed and is hoped to open as normal on Wednesday, July 20.
St Luke’s CE First School have decided to close at lunchtime due to the extreme heat.
Today, Redditch sweltered in 36-degree heat with a predicted high of 37 degrees tomorrow.
