A BUSY Tesco petrol station in Redditch is set to close for nearly four months.

Tesco Redditch Petrol Station on Coldfield Drive is to close from 9 pm on July 17 and will not reopen until November 14.

During the closure, new fuel tanks are set to be installed.

A customer notice at the supermarket apologises for any inconvenience caused and the closest Tesco petrol Station is Solihull Extra.

However, a member of Spotted: Redditch said people will not travel to Solihull to fill up their fuel tank to stay loyal to Tesco.

The member said: “As if people are going to drive all the way to Solihull, are Tesco deluded and think customers are that loyal.

“The prices of fuel are ridiculous, I am sure people can make do with the stations that we have local to Redditch rather than wasting fuel travelling.”

According to petrolprices.com, as of July 13, petrol at Tesco Redditch Extra was 189.9p per litre whilst fellow supermarket big brand Morrisons charged 182.7p per litre.

However, the cheapest petrol in the area can be found just outside of Redditch, in Studley at Newpark Garage which charged 179.7p per litre.
