A REDDITCH councillor is calling for knitters and crocheters to take up their hooks and their needles for a town display.
Councillor for Matchborough and Ipsley, Juliet Brunner is urging craft enthusiasts to take part in creating a display for Remembrance Sunday.
After seeing examples of displays in other towns, Cllr Brunner approached the Ecumenical Craft Group for help.
The club meet every other Wednesday from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm in the Redditch Ecumenical Centre/
The group coordinator, Jane Waldron said: “We are all thrilled to be taking part in the Poppy Project and encourage everyone to get involved.”
Cllr Juliet Brunner said: “Community projects like this are something Redditch does really well and I’m asking for your support. We need thousands of Poppies!”
Patterns are available by calling Nicki Farnes on 0152765952.
Anyone who completes a poppy can leave them at the Ecumenical Centre.
