TWO people have been charged with shoplifting and theft after a police chase in Studley.
On June 19, officers spotted two people in a cloned Renault Clio on the A435 who are alleged to have been involved in several high-value shoplifting offences across West Midlands, Warwickshire, and West Mercia.
Police followed the vehicle and deployed a stinger device across the road, deflating the tyres.
The driver made off from the car but was detained after a short foot chase.
A female passenger was also detained from the car and a quantity of several goods was recovered.
Brian Bunn aged 42 of Kellington Close, Birmingham has been charged with theft, shoplifting and driving offences.
Caitlin Grose aged 31 years of Oldknow Road, Birmingham has been charged with theft and shoplifting.
Both were remanded in custody and appeared at Coventry Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, June 21.
