A THREE-DAY food festival is set to come to Redditch at the end of the month – with a demonstration from a celebrity chef.

From Friday, May 27 to Sunday, May 29 the town centre will play stage to a fun-filled event featuring a range of food and drink traders, live entertainment, and kitchen demonstrations.

It is set to be a star-studded weekend with multi-Michelin star chef and author Jean- Christophe Novelli will be hosting a live kitchen demo.

There will also be entertainment from Katy Ashworth, host of the flagship cookery show ‘I Can Cook’ on CBeebies.

The festival, hosted by Redditch BID follows on the success of the team’s Christmas Extravaganza event last November.

BID manager, Muj Rahman, said: “We are incredibly excited to announce and host our Food Festival this summer to coincide with the Queen`s Jubilee celebrations, making this a very special event for our town.”

“Food and drink are so central to the way that we celebrate special occasions or to the way that we socialise with others, so it is wonderful to be able to offer Redditch locals the space to come together, socialise and just soak up the festive atmosphere.

“With lots of family entertainment planned for the weekend, it is a great way of celebrating how multicultural our local community is, reflecting our vibrant community and all that it has to offer”.

Foodies can expect to find street food options from around the world, tempting sweet treats from artisan producers and a variety of beverages from cocktail stands and quirky craft items.

The event will be open for visitors from 10 am to 6 pm Friday to Sunday and will take place in the town centre around St Stephens Church.

Redditch Food Festiva is hosted in partnership with the market events experts RR Events.
