A KIND-HEARTED Redditch youngster has been praised by the town's MP for his community efforts.
Edward Kenny is the latest resident to receive an Act of Kindness Award from MP Rachel Maclean.
Concerned about the amount of litter blighting his local area, Edward, aged 10, recently organised a litter pick at Morton Stanley.
He contacted Redditch Borough Council to arrange the litter picking equipment and, with the help of his dad, collected a whopping 50lbs of rubbish.
Edward’s mother, Jo, then got in touch with Rachel to let her know about her son’s Act of Kindness.
Rachel said: “Given Edward collected 50lbs of rubbish and because he cares very much about where he lives, it was clear to me how deserving he was to receive an Act of Kindness Award.
“It is also very inspiring to see someone so young taking pride in where they live and wanting to improve it.”
