A TEAM of fifty staff who work across women and children’s services at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust have raised nearly £4,000.

The group, which included consultants, junior doctors, nurses and midwives entered the Spring Wolf Run last month.

The event is combination of three kinds of off-road running: mud runs, trail runs and obstacle runs across different terrains.

The idea to enter a team into the challenging run was spearheaded by Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist, Laura Veal.

After Laura and her colleagues completed the run she said: “I’m so happy to have completed that challenge, after encouraging so many of my colleagues to take part too.

“Not only has this provided an opportunity for the team to have some much-needed rest, recuperation and team building after the pressures of the last 24 months but we are also trying to raise as much money as possible to improve the environment and services that Women and Children of Worcestershire experience when they are receiving care within the trust."

The money raised will be used to improve the environment and services that Women and Children of Worcestershire experience when they are receiving care in our hospitals.

Lucy Brown, charity engagement officer for Worcestershire Acute Hospitals charity added: “We are delighted to work together with colleagues in the Women and Children’s division and so delighted to see them all complete and enjoy the Wolf run while raising a fantastic amount of money together.

“To have the support of our fantastic colleagues, just highlights their commitment to putting their patients first, as all funds raised will support the patients, staff and services of our hospitals.”
