A BRAND new summer 10k running event is set to come to Alcester this May.
On Sunday, May 29, fitness enthusiasts will be able to take part in the Alcester Summer 10k.
After a successful post-pandemic return last October, and due to popular demand, the much loved Alcester 10K will become a two-race series in 2022.
The event, organised by Raceways Events, aims to involve the community through sponsorship, volunteer groups and businesses whilst raising funds for Leamington Spa based children's charity Marathon Kids UK.
Sam Taylor, events manager for Raceways, said “We are so excited to bring this new format of our longest-running event to Alcester.
"There’s already been such a great response to the event, and we can’t wait to see it in action.
"After a really tough few years, it’s fantastic to finally see our events happening again!”
All event finishers will receive a race T-shirt and a medal at the finish line - and for those who finish both the Summer and Autumn races, the medals will combine into one commemorative souvenir for the Alcester 10K Series.
There will also be an Under 16's children’s 1km Fun Run which is free to enter.
