REDDITCH United has joined forces with Birmingham City to boost opportunities for the club.

The agreement will see the Reds provide Birmingham City with a Talent ID Centre for their pre-academy sessions at the Trico Stadium, while Redditch United will benefit from the support of Birmingham City’s Category 1 academy.

Birmingham City will also provide CPD sessions for Redditch United’s grassroots coaches as well as giving players opportunities to visit the Blues for fixtures and trials.

Redditch United’s players, staff and supporters will also have access to ticketing opportunities through Birmingham City’s ticketing incentive scheme.

Redditch United Chairman David Faulkner said: “This will have a huge benefit to further promote the quality of our grassroots junior offer and thus provide a network of support for our players and coaches.

“We are committed to providing opportunities for everyone and this link will enable us to offer those with aspirations of playing in the elite game make that transition.

“Over the past year we have built a strong relationship with the clubs commercial department and it’s exciting for us to be able to grow our link with the club further.”

Simon Hill from BCFC added: "We are delighted to welcome Redditch United to our Academy Club partner AGA scheme.

“This will hopefully benefit both clubs in many ways. It will help the coaching staff of Redditch United gain valuable insights into the coaching programme here at the Academy, which will help them develop as coaches with their own teams.

“We are also committed to putting on CPD events that will also help them develop as coaches. Birmingham City Academy is committed to giving opportunities to local players and helping their football development.

“We hope this agreement will contribute to the development and growth of Redditch United across all of its age groups."
