A MAN has been taken to hospital following a crash between a car and a tanker at a petrol station in Redditch.
Emergency services descended on the petrol station at Morrisons on Warwick Highway, just after 11.20am this morning (February 20).
The crash involved a car which was trapped underneath a tanker.
Crews worked to make the scene safe and released an elderly man from the car before he was taken to hospital.
Four fire engines attended the scene, along with a specialist unit, police and the ambulance service.
A spokesperson for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: "Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from Droitwich, Redditch and Evesham were called at 11:23 on 20 February to an RTC involving a large vehicle in Clearwell Road, Redditch.
"A car, underneath a fuel tanker was removed by fire service personnel using a turfor winch and a hydraulic tanker system.
"An elderly male casualty was removed from the car using hydraulic equipment and the vehicles and the scene were made safe by fire service personnel. The casualty was handed over to the ambulance service who attended, along with the police. The incident was marked as closed at 12:58."
