RAIL operator West Midlands Railway has warned passengers not to travel on Friday due to the expected impact of Storm Eunice.
The warning comes after delays were caused to services in the West Midlands on Wednesday night as Storm Dudley felled trees and blew debris onto tracks.
The firm is warning of similar disruption tomorrow (February 18) and blanket speed restrictions will also be in place across the network.
Tickets booked for tomorrow can be used today (February 17) or on Saturday, WMR has said.
Jonny Wiseman, West Midlands Rail customer experience director, said: “Storm Eunice is expected to be one of the biggest storms in recent years and we expect significant disruption to train services.
“The message to our customers is clear – do not use the train on Friday. Customers with tickets for travel on Friday will be able to travel today and Saturday instead.”
Passengers travelling over the weekend are advised to check their journeys before setting out.
