SHOPPERS at the Kingfisher Shopping Centre can expect a safe shopping experience when rules on mask wearing end this week.

As of Thursday January 27, the government's Plan B restrictions in England will be lifted, with the rule on mandatory face coverings in public places to be dropped.

Face masks will no longer be compulsory in indoor public spaces, such as shops.

Bosses at Redditch's Kingfisher Shopping Centre have moved to reassure shoppers that the centre will remain "Covid safe" as retrictions are lifted.

Measures remaining in place include hand sanitising stations and good ventilation.

A Kingfisher spokesperson said: “As always, the welfare of our guests is our priority.

"Following the recent Government announcement that Plan B restrictions will be lifted from next week, we will continue to ensure Kingfisher remains a Covid safe shopping centre by managing the flow of people in a safe and secure way, providing hand sanitising stations and ensuring the centre is well ventilated.

"We look forward to continuing to provide our guests with an enjoyable, relaxed and safe shopping experience.”

Alongside the easing of mask rules, working from home guidance has ended and Covid passes, such as proof vaccination or a recent negative test, will no longer be mandatory for entry to nightclubs and other large venues.

The legal requirement to isolate if you test positive for Covid-19 remains in place.
