A LORRY and car crash has closed the M5 motorway southbound in Worcester this morning (Saturday).
The southbound carriageway is closed between junction five (Droitwich) and six (Worcester).
Firefighters from Worcester and Droitwich, West Midlands Ambulnce Service and West Mercia Police are all at the scene.
The crash involved a heavy goods vehicle, believed to be a milk lorry, and car.
Both overturned and ended up on their side.
The car was made safe by firefighters and the HGV is on the embankment and leaning into lane 1.
Junction 5 to 6 has been closed by highways at present.
Trapped traffic is being released by police.
Two of the vehicles involved have overturned and come to rest on their sides.
National Highways Traffic Officers are on scene.
Diversion Route for M5 south
Road users are advised to follow the hollow diamond diversion symbol on road signs:
Exit M5 at J1 and take the 4th exit on to the A38 southbound
Travel along the A38 until the junction with the A4538
Turn left on to the A4538 southbound
Continue on the A4538 to M5 J6 roundabout
Take the 3rd exit and rejoin the M5
