REDDITCH calendar king Kevin Beresford has put Redditch on the map yet again with his quirky designs.

His new calendars are flying off the shelves, one celebrating benches around Redditch, and another featuring photos solely of Jack Grealish's calves.

The 69-year-old shot to fame in 2003 when he bought the town's roundabouts to the world, which was picked up by TV's Graham Norton on his chat show.

The 'Roundabouts of Redditch' calendar went on to sell 20,000 copies and turned Kevin into a celebrity.

The new 'Benches of Redditch' showcases benches from around the town and surrounding area and has struck a chord with fans, with orders coming in from around the country and beyond, even from the USA and Russia.

Explaining why he chose Redditch's benches, Kevin said: "Most people like a sit down. Benches are a meditative device, you can sit down and reflect on life.

"Artists have always focused on the mundane, think of Tracey Emin's unmade bed or Andy Warhols' cans."

His favourite bench featured in the calendar is based in Sambourne, wrapped around a tree on a "quintessential English green."

He says the benches also have untold histories, such as one outside Scissors barbers in Winyates which was set in memory of a barber who died at work.

Mr Beresford, founder of the Roundabout Appreciation Society and a proud member of the Dull Men's Club, has also launched a calendar featuring photos just of Jack Grealish's calves.

'The Wonderful World of Jack Grealish's Calves' showcases the England heartthrob's impressive muscles, with his upper body and feet nowhere to be seen.

Villa fan Kevin said: "He's got the most recognisable calves. He wears his childhood shin pads with his socks down. It's selling really well."

Following on the football theme, he plans to soon launch a calendar celebrating Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn's bottom.
