TWO kind-hearted young girls from Studley have made over 120 Christmas gift bags for care home residents.

With the help from mum, Stephanie Martin, Belle and Dottie Linehan have handcrafted 128 gift bags full of treats and essentials for residents of two care homes.

Every year the family reach out to others and help people in need.

Stephanie said: “Last year we collected toys and donated them to Inspire in Redditch.

“As the girls are older this year, I let them come up with the idea.

“Their nan passed away earlier in the year, and she was a resident at Four Acres care home in Studley for four weeks.

“So, the girls wanted to make gift bags for all her friend still there.

“They decorated the gift bags themselves as we brought paper bags from Amazon and the girls painted and stamped them.”

Stephanie posted on Facebook around three weeks ago appealing for donations and was overwhelmed with the response.

She created a wish list with items people could choose to donate and organised a raffle which raised £350.

“We were originally only making gift bags for the Four Acres but then my friend Danny who works at Brambles Residential Care Home in Redditch asked us to make gift bags for the residents there too,” said Stephanie.

“So, the number doubled to 128!”

On Saturday, November 27, Stephanie, and Dottie, aged five and Belle, aged seven delivered 64 gift bags to the care home.

Stephanie added: “We have some gift sets left over thanks to all the donations, but unfortunately we cannot give these to the residents at the Brambles.

“I am hoping I can put a little something together for the care home staff instead.”

The family are set to deliver the remaining 64 gift bags on Saturday, December 4.
