A POPULAR teacher at a Redditch school has received a second nomination for a prestigious education award.

Holly Adams, teacher at Arrow Valley First School, has been commended by a parent for her friendly and helpful attitude to every child at the school.

Miss Adams has been nominated for the Teacher of the Year Award as part of the Worcestershire Education Awards 2022.

She is a year one and year two teacher and assistant head for inclusion.

Parent, Gina Morris, said Holly has helped her son, Jack, so much even though he isn’t part of her class.

“Since my son moved to the school, he now has friends and an amazing support network,” said Gina.

“Miss Adams has helped my son and myself beyond any expectations.

“Jack arrived at the school not even being able to write his own name and now he can write all sorts, my son can now count and do a number of things all thanks to this amazing lady.

“I see her every morning with a big welcoming smile, and she always has time to listen to any on.

“Every day Miss Adams stands at her classroom door welcoming the children, not just for her class but the whole school.

“She will notice a haircut/ new coat, the small things.

“Any time I have needed anything she has jumped in with both feet to make sure we have all the help we need.

“I could go on and on about this amazing woman, but nothing would be enough praise.”

Holly Adams, who has been teaching since 2004, said: “I am so overwhelmed. I have only told a few people and I am not usually one to be lost for words!

“It makes such a difference for someone to say something positive and do something like this.

“I am over the moon!”
