A SPOOKTACULAR Halloween maze is set to return to Redditch this weekend.

The annual Halloween walk-through began in 2012 and this year organisers Team Scream and Run are promising their biggest event yet.

The spooky event will see a large maze filled with scary props, animatronics, lighting and actors bring the scares to people brave enough to take on the challenge.

The maze will be based on the Morrisons car park on Warwick Highway on both Saturday and Sunday, from 6 to 9pm.

Organiser Vanessa Browne, along with owner Brian Bowers, set up the event as they were inspired by horror festivals they attended around the country and wanted to bring something similar to Redditch.

Vanessa said: “We saw the festival and thought, this is incredible, we need to do this ourselves. We started this in our front porch with animatronics and it’s grown from there.

“With no fireworks on this year we were determined to put on something big. There are 12 scare zones in the maze with different storylines, it’s an immersive experience.”

This weekend’s event will be the biggest yet from the team, who give their time for free to create the Halloween extravaganza.

Work on the maze started weeks ago but is set to come to life this weekend when actors from Team Scream and Run and Murder House Productions descend on the set.

Stewards and marshals will be on site and the maze is not suitable for pregnant women, people with heart conditions or photosensitive epilepsy

The event is free to attend, but donations to Young Lives Versus Cancer are welcome.
