THE STEWARDS House at Redditch Golf Club could be getting a makeover if plans are granted.

An application has been submitted by the club to Redditch Borough Council to alter and extend the building to make it the new home of the pro-shop at the club on Lower Ginsty Lane.

The building, which was historically used as the home of the club's groundsman, has since been converted into office space.

Under the new plans, the entrance will be remodelled to create a shop front, to allow for the shop's relocation from the main club house.

A new patio and seating area would also be created along with additional office space on the first floor.

A first floor balcony would also be added to the rear of the building overlooking the first tee and the fairway, the plans state.

The planning statement reads: "The proposed external alterations will modernise the appearance of the Stewards House and create an attractive and distinct focal point upon entering the site."
