A REDDITCH man has been jailed for 18 years after attempting to murder a woman.
Anthony Boyd, aged 37, of Hewell Lane, Redditch was sentenced at Worcester Crown Court earlier today (Friday, October 15).
On October 14 2020, West Mercia Police received a report of a woman having been stabbed at Oldington Trading Estate, Kidderminster
Officers attended but Boyd had left the scene.
The woman was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham with life-changing injuries and was later discharged.
Over the next few days officers conducted searches to find Boyd. He was eventually located in Somerset and arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
Investigations took place and he was charged and subsequently pleaded guilty to attempt murder, stalking and controlling and coercive behaviour.
Detective Constable Martyn Dudley said: “We thank the victim in this case for her co-operation in bringing this man to justice.
“We urge anyone with any concerns about domestic violence to please get in touch.
“We act on all reports we receive and offer full support to anyone who feels they are a victim of domestic violence.”
A restraining order was also granted for an indefinite period.
