LOCKDOWN rule breakers from Redditch have been hit with fines in the courts.

People have been hit with fines for leaving home without a reasonable reason, entering premises without a face covering and attending private gatherings during the national lockdown earlier this year.

All were handed fines at Worcestershire Magistrates Court on October 1.

Alexsander Andrzejewksi was hit with a fine for entering a newsagent without wearing a face covering. The 36-year-old of Marsden Road entered A-Z News on Ipsley Street on February 26 without a covering and without reasonable excuse, breaching health protection rules at the time. He was fined £200 and ordered to pay a £34 surcharge and £95 costs.

Redditch man Declin Dreslin, of Whitehouse Lane, was found to have left his home, without reasonable excuse, while the country was in a national tier 4 lockdown on February 21. The 66-year-old was ordered to pay a fine, surcharge and costs totalling £329.

A 36-year-old Redditch man was fined for taking part in a gathering during the national lockdown. Jamie Flynn, of Edgeworth Close, took part in a private gathering without reasonable excuse on February 19 while Redditch was under tier 4 lockdown rules. He was fined £200 and ordered to pay a £34 surcharge and £95 costs.

Redditch woman Harriet Hyslop was fined for leaving the place she was living without reasonable excuse on February 20 while Redditch was under tier 4 lockdown rules. The 23-year-old of Studley Road was fined £133 and also ordered to pay a £34 surcharge and £95 costs.

Lucasz Maslanka was fined for being outside his Redditch home while the country was in lockdown. He was found to be outside his home without reasonable excuse on February 22, contrary to coronavirus regulations at the time. The 37-year-old, of Heronfield Close, was ordered to pay a fine, surcharge and costs totalling £329.

Redditch man Lee Turner, of Oak Tree Avenue, was ordered to pay a £200 fine, £34 surcharge and £95 costs for being outside his home without reasonable excuse on February 20.

Meanwhile, a Wolverhampton man was fined for being in Redditch during the coronavirus lockdown. Zaman Seirash, of First Avenue, was found to be in Redditch, without reasonable excuse, on February 20. The 28-year-old was ordered to pay £329 in a fine, surcharge and costs.
