THE Kingfisher Shopping Centre has been evacuated after a threat was made towards a store.

Police carried out a search of the area after being called to the centre at around 10.45am this morning (September 15).

An investigation has been launched to find the person who made the threats and police believe there is no cause for concern to the wider public.

Officers and the fire service remain at the scene.

The centre has now reopened, police said.

A spokesperson for the Kingfisher Shopping Centre said: “Following an incident the Kingfisher Shopping Centre was evacuated and closed for one and a half hours from 1145 hours today on the advice of the police. As always, our overriding priority is the safety and comfort of all our guests and staff.”
