STRATFORD-on-Avon District Council has gone back on the road with a series of roadshows and arrived in Alcester to discourage residents form dropping litter.

The event which took place on September 9, provided advice on disposing of litter, information on the time it takes for rubbish to degrade, and the detrimental impact it has on the environment and wildlife.

People were asked to download the Refill App in exchange for one of the reusable water bottle.

Councillor Ian Shenton, climate change portfolio holder said: “We want to try and change people's attitudes and behaviour making the dropping of litter, particularly food on the go litter, totally unacceptable.

"The District Council spends over £1.5million on clearing up our beautiful landscape and most of this is a totally avoidable cost.

“If we all do our bit and take our litter home, we will all help to keep Stratford District beautiful and protect the wildlife."
