A MAN and a woman have been arrested following the death of a 63-year-old man and his dog in Alvechurch.

The man died at the scene on Redditch Road following a collision with a vehicle at around 5:45pm last night (August 15).

A 27-year-old man from Hollywood, Worcestershire has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of a collision and perverting the course of justice.

A 27-year-old woman, also from Hollywood, Worcestershire has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Both suspects remain in police custody.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Crews arrived at the scene on Redditch Road to find a man, the pedestrian, in a critical condition.

“Staff administered advanced trauma care to the man at the scene, but sadly despite the best efforts, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed deceased on scene.”
