A CHARITY golf day in Redditch has raised thousands of pounds for injured military personnel.

The event, held at Redditch Golf Club and hosted by international packaging experts BOBST, banked £7.500 for the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre benevolent fund.

A total of 17 teams, comprised of the company’s staff, suppliers, partners and customers played the course, followed by a dinner, raffle and auction.

Doris Morrison, finance director, said: “It is an amazing amount of money to have raised and we are thrilled that year after year we have been able to hand over cheques to DMRC with ever higher figures.

“It really is testament to the work the charity does and to all who support the golf day.”

Plans are already under way for next year’s event, to be held on June 30, again at Redditch Golf Club.
