REDDITCH library is relaxing Covid restrictions this week; as part of the move forward to normal service provision.

Seating in the library space will return along with the lifting of browsing time restrictions, except during very busy periods.

Social groups of up to 6 people such as reading groups and Knit and Natter can once again meet in the library space.

The re-introduction of face to face, one to one sessions offering support with digital skills, employability and job seeking, and business advice is planned over the coming few weeks and meeting rooms will be available to hire.

Normal borrowing periods and standard fees and charges have been reintroduced.

Worcestershire County councillor Matt Dormer, cabinet member for communities said: “Libraries provide free and accessible community space for Worcestershire residents to enjoy.

"The gradual easing of Covid restrictions allows for a more leisurely experience for customers visiting their local library and the reintroduction of valuable face to face social connecting activity is a great step forward."

From June 7 libraries are no longer required to quarantine returned items which will vastly improve stock levels and reservation waiting times.

The number of people in the library will still be monitored and customers are requested to continue to pre-book computer sessions and desk spaces.

Tickets are also available for Storytime sessions for parents and carers of children, 5 years and under which need to be booked in advance.
