A WITNESS appeal has been launched after an elderly man and woman suffered "significant injuries" when a car crashed into a tree in Redditch.
The collision happened on Wednesday, June 2, at around 10.10am.
A red Renault Clio travelling on Claybrook Drive approached the junction with Milhill Road, left the carriageway and collided with a tree.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said the man and woman were trapped inside the car after the crash, but were able to escape themselves.
A spokesperson from West Mercia Police said: "The driver and passenger, a man and woman both in their 80s suffered significant injuries and were taken to hospital.
"If anyone saw the incident or has dash-cam footage that can help with our investigation, please contact us on 101 or via our reporting page online quoting incident number 178i of 2 June 2021."
Claybrook Drive was closed by police following the crash.
