REDDITCH Liberal Democrats have outlined their aim to build a town with opportunities for all ahead of the borough and county council elections on May 6.

In its election manifesto, the party has highlighted its commitments to ensuring residents are treated fairly, supporting the Redditch economy, and protecting the environment for future generations.

They aim to build "better bus services and a move to hybrid and electric buses to reduce pollution," as well as introduce more electric car charging points in car parks, taxi ranks and residential streets where on-street parking is the norm.

They have also outlined a commitment to a "better maintained network of footpaths and safe cycle routes" and a full, modern and efficient health service for the people of Redditch.

The group has described themselves as the "inclusive party" with an aim to "build a community where everyone can take part."

Mark Tomes, Liberal Democrat Candidate for Church Hill Ward & Arrow Valley East Division, said: "Redditch Liberal Democrats, are working with local people to deliver and resolve the issues that they face in their daily lives.

"We are driven to reduce carbon dioxide output in the borough as a priority, and are committed to working with 'Worcestershire Active Travel' to implement a comprehensive network of cycle and walking routes throughout the Borough."
