DETECTIVES in Redditch are appealing for witnesses after receiving a report that a woman was raped.

At around 8pm last Monday (April 19), the victim was in Matchborough near to the McColl’s store sitting in the park between the car park and the pond, when the offence took place.

Detective Inspector Beth Wells said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area between 7.30pm and 9.30pm.

“We would like to identify four young people on bicycles who were seen in the park, potentially three young men and a young woman, who we believe can help us with our investigation. One of the men had no shirt and was on a blue mountain bike.

“We especially want to hear from anyone driving along either Matchborough Way or Hatfield Lane who may have dashcam footage from that time."

People who have any information that can help with police enquiries, are asked to contact officers by calling 101 or via the ‘Tell us about’ on the West Mercia Police website, quoting incident number 579i of 21 April 2021.
