APRIL is here - and that means pubs, cafes and restaurants will be able to reopen this month for outdoor table service.

From Monday, April 12, six people or two households will be able to sit together and enjoy a drink outdoors - and there's no requirement for a "substantial meal" this time.

‘Outdoors’ refers to private gardens and any other outdoor space, which includes beer gardens, cafes or restaurants with outdoor seating spaces, and hospitality areas in venues like zoos and theme parks, which are also due to reopen at this time.

Punters will not be able to sit inside until May 17 if all goes to plan as per the Government's roadmap out of lockdown, but this is a big step in the right direction.

Social distancing rules will still apply, so people will have to wear masks when moving around or using the bathroom and stay two metres apart.

Gez Quinn, chairman of Redditch and Bromsgrove CAMRA said: "From a CAMRA point of view, our key aim at this time is to support pubs and breweries.

"Pubs have invested, and are still investing, thousands and thousands of pounds in making their premises covid-safe and also extending their premises outside.

"I would therefore encourage people to return to the pub as soon as they feel comfortable.

"If some are still nervous about doing so, why not try visiting at a quiet time of the day, I’m sure that their fears will be calmed once they are able to see the changes that have been made to keep them safe."

But which pubs in Redditch and Bromsgrove will be reopening for outdoor service on April 12?

Redditch and Bromsgrove CAMRA has put together a list of the pubs and clubs that have confirmed their plans to reopen their beer gardens or marquees this month.
