A REDDITCH logistics company has seen an outbreak in Covid-19 cases.

A total of 12 members of staff at Ceva Logistics, on Pipers Road, recently tested positive for the virus.

The firm has been supported by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), with Worcestershire public health officials continuing to monitor the situation.

Dr Kathryn Cobain, director for Public Health for Worcestershire said: “Worcestershire County Council can confirm it has been working with Worcestershire Regulatory Services to support Ceva Logistics in Redditch following a recent outbreak of Covid-19.

"Close contacts were identified at the start of the outbreak and told to self-isolate.

"Public Health partners continue to work closely with the business to ensure prevention measures remain in place and we continue to work collectively to monitor the situation and to ensure all necessary action is taken.”

The infected staff have followed the national guidance by self-isolating for at least ten days and are now returning to work.

A HSE spokesperson said: “We have liaised with the operator and have provided guidance on safety measures at the site.”
