SOME areas of Redditch have seen a rise in the number of positive Covid-19 cases.

The town still has the highest infection rate in Worcestershire, according to the latest data. 

Public Health England figures show that Redditch’s infection rate was 214.6 per 100,000 people in the week up to February 16 – with 183 cases recorded.

In the previous week leading up to February 9, the infection rate was 221.7 per 100,000 people – with 189 cases recorded.

In nearby Bromsgrove, the infection rate was 113.1 with 113 cases recorded. In Worcester, the infection was 135.3 with 137 cases recorded.

The Redditch area with the highest rolling rate of infection is Arrow Valley & Ipsley at 404.1 per 100,000 people.

Church Hill South recorded the lowest rolling rate of infection at 129.3 per 100,000.

The infection rate in Alcester was at 49.2, with 3 positive cases recorded in the week. In Studley, the infection rate was 134.6, with 8 positive cases recorded.
