REDDITCH Borough Council is closing its offices to the public in a bid to keep residents and staff as safe as possible following news about the national lockdown.

From 5pm tomorrow (January 7) until further notice, the Town Hall will close its doors but customers can still access services remotely or get in touch with officers.

Council Leader Matt Dormer said: “The safety of our staff and residents is paramount and we cannot ignore the rising number of Covid cases across the Borough and indeed the country.

“In line with Government guidance, for people to stay at home, we have taken the tough decision to close our offices and encourage customers to contact us remotely whether this is via our website or telephone.

“Since March the majority of staff have been working from home and we have continued to deliver our services in circumstances which have seen officers go above and beyond and we will continue to do so.”

Services, including online payments and reporting a missed bin, are available at redditchbc.gov.uk and can be found by using the search button. The Council will also update social media channels with alternative ways to get in touch and customer services staff are available on 01527 64252.
