THIS Christmas is going to be a little different this year, thanks to the coronavirus pandemic.

Bradford has also been placed in tier 3 meaning most events and venues have to remain closed for the foreseeable future.

However, there are still some festive activities taking place which comply with lockdown rules some of which take place online.

From a festive drive-in cinema to DIY wreath making, here are five festive events and activities you can take part in this month.

Make your own Christmas Wreath
When is it?: Friday 11th December, 7-9pm
Saturday 12th December, 2-4pm
Sunday 13th December, 10am-12pm

Now that we have a lot more time on our hands, it’s time to do the festive activities you don’t have time for each year.

Rosa Rugosa Florists, which is based in Keighley,  is hosting an online wreath making event via Zoom.

Everything you need for the event will be sent through the post before the event.

You pack will include: a moss based wreath, eucalyptus populus, eucalyptus cinerea, snow-coloured white phlox twigs and blue reel wire to bind it all together.

You can chat freely with the host, Annie Miller, asking her any questions throughout the Zoom call.

Alternatively, if you want to join in but can’t make any of these dates they can still provide a video of the workshop for you to follow along with.

If you live near Ilkley and are looking for a free way to keep the kids entertained, take part in the Ilkley Elf Trail.

For this activity, you have to keep your eyes peeled for any elves hiding in shop windows around the town.

When you spot one, scan the QR code and you could win prizes from local businesses.

To take part in the event, simply download the LoyalFree app and head to the trails section.

From there, you can follow the trails on your phone and scan any QR codes.

If you love watching festive movies around the Christmas period, then this event is perfect for you.

Blue Sky Cinema is screening a variety of classic Christmas movies including The Holiday, Miracle on 34th Street and Die Hard.

Best of all, they are also offering food and drink boxes as your movie night would be incomplete without snacks; these boxes start from £16.50.

Embark on a Winter’s Trail
When: 15 December- 17 January
Where: TCV Skelton Grange Environment Centre, Skelton Grange Road, Leeds
Cost: £8.52

If you want to get into the festive spirit, then consider embarking on this trail.

The woods are lit up by candlelight and those who attend are encouraged to look out for miniature sculpture and fairy scenes which are hidden among the trees.

Once you have finished exploring the area, head back to the campfire for a hot drink and sweet treat.

Best of all, your money goes towards Grange’s woodland conservation work.

Online performances at Bradford Cathedral
When: 16 December
Where: Online
Cost: Free- but online donations are welcomed.

Hft’s (Disability services & support organisation in Bradford, England) Winter Warmer, held at Bradford Cathedral, is an online evening of entertainment.

It will features musical performances from some world-renowned choirs and singers and also some speakers.

Grab a glass of mulled wine, stick on your favourite festive jumper and let the sounds of the Magdalen College choir fill your ears.

Guest speakers Juliet Stevenson CBE and Michael Pennington will also be invited to the event.

All funds raised from Hft's Winter Warmer will go to towards ensuring the ongoing safety and wellbeing of people with learning disabilities and autism, and the key workers who support them.
