A MAN was taken to hospital after the disability scooter he was riding was involved in a crash with a car in Lye High Street yesterday (Thursday November 26).

The rider was treated at the scene following the collision, which happened just after 2.30pm, but his injuries were not thought to be life threatening, a West Midlands Ambulance Service told the News.

One ambulance was sent to the scene at 2.34pm and a spokesman for the service said: "On arrival we discovered one patient, a man, who was riding the mobility scooter.

"He was treated at the scene for injuries not believed to be serious before being taken to Russell’s Hall Hospital for further assessment."
