A NATIONAL housebuilder has confirmed that construction has started on a new housing development in Alcester.

In total, over 300 homes will be built at the Alcester Park site, with a range of two, three and four-bedroom properties suitable for a variety of buyers.

The development will also comprise of 35 per cent affordable housing – including social and affordable rent and shared ownership homes. The first show home will be launched in March 2021.

Steve Garton, regional sales director at Bloor Homes Western, said: “We are very excited to be developing this collection of new homes at Alcester Park.

"Our vision is to create an attractive addition to the existing community by building these new homes within extensive landscaped open spaces.

“The homes, which are expected to be available to purchase in the New Year, will be suitable for a wide range of buyers, including first-time buyers, couples and those looking to trade up to a larger family home, as well as downsizers.

As part of the development, Bloor Homes will be providing funding towards local services. Contributions will include £587,300 on acute and community healthcare, £149,400 on primary healthcare, £51,400 on libraries, £54,500 on off-site open space, and up to £791,500 on education.

The site is located on the north western edge of Alcester, close to the smaller villages of King's Coughton and Arrow.
