A TALENTED TikTok team who work as garden waste collectors in Redditch are back with a festive announcement for residents.

Father and daughter duo Paul and Kim went viral earlier in the year for their informative and light-hearted dance videos to keep people smiling throughout the pandemic.

Filmed just before lockdown number two, the pair are now letting garden waste customers know that for the first time, collections will be continuing throughout the winter and rolling into next years’ service.

The service, which serves customers in both Redditch and Bromsgrove, usually ends in November and begins again in February/March, but was ceased for several weeks earlier in the year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The extended service aims to make up for the missed collections and support residents in making the most of their gardens and get the full value of their garden waste service for the year.

The service will resume week commencing January 4 or January 11, depending on which collection sequence customers are on, and will run into 2021 with the renewal period remaining in February.

Cllr Brandon Clayton, whose Portfolio covers Environmental Services, said: “I know that the extension of the Garden Waste Service will be greatly welcomed by our customers who enjoy gardening all year round. I have to say a huge thank you to Paul and Kim for another brilliant, light-hearted instalment in their TikTok series to help get important messages out to our residents.

"All of our crews, garden waste and general waste, have continued to work extremely hard on the front line this year and deserve the thanks of the whole borough.”
