ONE of the Black Country’s best known charity campaigners has just completed another big fundraising effort.

Shaz Saleem, secretary of Dudley Central Mosque and Chairman of Dudley Taxi Association, set himself the challenge of running 100 miles in 30 days.

After the first five he decided he’d made a big mistake!

But the founder of the Saleem Foundation charity persevered to raise funds for dementia care and finally reached his milestone.

He beat out each painful step of the way at the Anytime Fitness Gym in Halesowen and raised £220.

Shaz said: “The past few months have been really tough. Coronavirus has hit people affected by dementia the hardest and it continues to disrupt lives.

“The Alzheimer Society’s fundraising income is at risk and are already estimating the loss of donations to be in the millions.”
