HALF of the county saw its coronavirus infection rate increase last week, but Wyre Forest's fell.

According to the latest figures, the infection rate increased in Wychavon, Bromsgrove and Redditch in the week up to October 15 but fell in Worcester, Malvern and Wyre Forest.

In that seven-day period, 481 cases were recorded in the county according to figures provided by Public Health England.

The infection rate in Worcester was 71.1 per 100,000 people with 72 cases recorded in the city in the seven days up to October 15 compared to an infection rating of 85 in the previous week.

The infection rate in Wychavon was 81.9 compared to 59.5 a week earlier and 62.3 in Malvern compared to 63 the previous week.

The highest infection rate in the county was in Bromsgrove where it increased to 157.2 per 100,000 people with 157 cases recorded in the week up to October 15. The infection rate a week earlier was 127.2 per 100,000 people.

The infection rate in Redditch was 111.4 compared to 79.8 a week earlier with 95 cases recorded in the seven days up to October 15.

Wyre Forest recorded an overall infection rate of 85 with 87 cases in the week compared to a rating of 94.8 a week earlier.

The average infection rate for Worcestershire based on the seven days up to October 15 was 96.7 cases per 100,000 people, with 576 cases recorded during the period.

The latest Public Health England map shows where the most cases were recorded in Wyre Forest in the week up to October 15.

The areas in dark blue had the highest infection rate, followed by dark green, light green, yellow then white.

Stourport Lickhill and Burlish recorded 18 cases - up by five, with a rolling infection rate of 256.6.

Stourport Mitton and Wilden had 11 cases - an increase of two, with an infection rate of 138.7.

Stourport Areley Kings had five cases - up by one on the previous week, and a rolling rate of 85.4.

Birchen Coppice had a total of three cases - the same as the week before, with an infection rate of 49.4.

Foley Park had four coronavirus cases - down by four - and a rolling rate of 52.8.

Habberley had seven cases - one fewer than the previous week - and a rolling rate of 106.8.

Franche had six cases, including four new cases, and a rate of 87.2.

Kidderminster Town had seven cases - down by one on the week before - with a rolling infection rate of 81.9.

Greenhill reported four cases - three fewer than the week before - and a rolling rate of 57.1.

Comberton recorded seven Covid cases - down by one - and a rate of 82.9.

Wolverley, Cookley and Blakedown, which includes Chaddesley Corbett, recorded five cases - down by six on the previous week, with a rolling rate of 54.9.

Hartlebury and Wychbold had nine cases in total - included seven new cases, and a rolling infection rate of 112.7.

Cleobury Mortimer, Burford and Ashford Carbonell had 14 cases - the same as the previous week, with a rolling rate of 153.5.

Bewdley West, Ribbesford and Far Forest had a total of seven cases, up by four, with a rolling infection rate of 99.2.

Bewdley East and Upper Arley had four cases - the same as the week before, with a rolling rate of 58.5.

Areas with fewer than two cases are not highlighted by Public Health England.
